In the rap-hip hop world, there's a golden rule: a rapper must know how to write before knowing how to rap. There's the rule, but then they are those who brave the taboo and break it. For a handful of dollars, ghostwriters write tailor-made compositions for famous rappers behind the scenes. Nejma, 22, agrees to be the ghost for an upstanding, soulless slammer. This is only the start of her troubles, leading us deep into the heart of the “rap music bizness” in which only the heroine's integrity and sincerity will enable her to survive. A brilliantly acted TV film against a backdrop of the struggle for social justice among the youth of immigrant descent.
